STOCKHOLM – In a shocking turn of events, the Russian separatist group known as Black Dawn launched a violent attack on the World Health Summit in Stockholm on Saturday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attack began just as the keynote speech was about to be delivered by Dr. Octavio Chase, the leading American expert on infectious diseases. Suddenly, the doors to the conference hall burst open and a group of armed men stormed in, shouting slogans in Russian and firing their weapons.

Panic and chaos ensued as attendees scrambled to flee the scene, with hundreds injured and many attendees killed in the attack. The Swedish police were quick to respond, and a fierce gun battle ensued, with the militants finally taking several people hostage and then getting away in a fail of gunfire in armored vehicles.

It was later revealed that Black Dawn was targeting Dr. Octavio Chase, who they claim is responsible for the deaths of many Russian citizens due to his work with the World Health Organization. The separatist group has long been campaigning for the secession of Russian-speaking territories in eastern Ukraine, and they see Chase as a symbol of Western oppression.

The attack on the World Health Summit has been condemned by leaders from around the world, with many expressing shock and outrage at the targeting of a peaceful gathering of medical professionals.

In a statement released shortly after the attack, Swedish Prime Minister, Stefan Löfven, said, “This is a heinous act of terrorism, and our thoughts are with the victims and their families. We will not tolerate such violence in our society, and the perpetrators will be brought to justice.”

The World Health Organization also released a statement, condemning the attack and vowing to continue their work to promote global health and well-being.

As of now, the location of the hostages are unknown, but the US State department said in a statement on Sunday that they were in negotiations with Black Dawn for the safe return of Dr. Chase. The world watches in horror and hope for a peaceful resolution to this tragic event.
